Department of Humanities and Sciences Industrial Visit to RTPS

The Department of Humanities and Sciences organized an industrial visit to Raichur Thermal Power Station (RTPS) on 30-04-2026. A total of 150 students and 8 faculty members participated in the visit. The visit aimed to provide practical exposure to thermal power generation processes. Students observed the functioning of the boiler, turbine, and generator units, while the officials explained the coal handling and ash disposal systems in detail. The working of control panels and safety measures was also demonstrated. Students gained knowledge about energy conversion and efficiency in power plants, which helped them understand real-time industrial operations and maintenance practices. Interaction with plant engineers clarified many technical concepts and doubts. Overall, the visit was informative, practical, and highly beneficial for academic learning.
