SC/ST Committee

Introduction

The guidelines outlined herein aim to guide and support the institution in the effective constitution and functioning of the SC/ST Committee. The Committee plays a vital role in ensuring social justice, equity, and protection of the rights of students, faculty, and staff belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes. Its effective functioning contributes to the creation of an inclusive, discrimination-free, and supportive institutional environment. The success of the SC/ST Committee depends on the active participation, awareness, and cooperation of all stakeholders of the institution.

Vision
To promote an inclusive academic environment that upholds equality, dignity, and social justice for members of the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe communities at Navodaya Institute of Technology.
Mission
To ensure equality, dignity, and a discrimination-free environment for SC/ST students and staff by safeguarding their rights, addressing grievances, and promoting inclusive institutional practices.

Functions & Responsibilities
To ensure compliance with the orders of reservation policy in admission and recruitment.
To look after welfare and support of SC/ST students, faculty, and staff.
To receive complaints of discrimination, harassment, or unfair treatment.
To recommend appropriate remedial measures to the institution.
To monitor scholarships, fellowships, and financial aid to SC/ST students.
To maintain a register of grievances received and action taken.
